Bringing Christmas to Andean Kids Makes the World Brighter

This holiday season spread the Christmas cheer a little farther! Fair trade Federation member Lucuma Designs is donating 2% of all December sales to help bring toys and supplies to disadvantaged Peruvian children.

Sarasota, FL - December 1, 2007 - This holiday season, Lucuma Designs is spreading Christmas cheer a little farther! In addition to delivering annual holiday gifts and bonuses to artists in Peru, Lucuma Designs is donating 2% of all December sales at www.lucuma.com to bring Christmas to over 100 children in the Andes with toys and other goodies they would not otherwise enjoy.
"We were approached by Pablo, one of our top Peruvian artists, with the idea, and we had to say YES. It made me proud to see our fair trade work go further and to see his desire to bring happiness to kids from the poorest families in his village." On the 24th, children will gather for a big "Chocolatada", a party where hot chocolate and traditionally Panettone are served. Gifts will be distributed while clowns and games entertain. Look for pictures of the kids' party in January!
